Brooklyn Hustle's Half-Sister Wins at Sandown

Mark Smith - Wednesday August 31

Edged out by the Frankel filly Let'sbefrankbaby at her most recent start at Sale, Brooklyn Hustle's half-sister Born Hustler opened her winning account over 1400m at Sandown-Lakeside on Wednesday.

Ridden by Jamie Kah for Jason Warren, Born Hustler made every post a winner.

Making her third start, the daughter of Tarzino defeated the Alpine Eagle filly Love Nest by a half-length, with the Pride Of Dubai filly Ameerati a half-neck back in third.

Jason Warren is hopeful the Tarzino filly can progress to the 1000 Guineas at Caulfield.

"That has been the plan all along," he said.

"Whether or not she is at that level remains to be seen. She will be given a chance to get there and is going the right way at this stage.

Jamie Kah said circumstances dictated that she led.

"She is not really a leader, and I didn't want to lead," Kah said.

"She was quick out of the gates and put herself there, although I don't think she loved the heavy track.

"She kept rolling back to the fence, being green and inexperienced, so there was plenty of merit to the win.

"She is tough and very honest. She is very different to her (half) sister in her racing pattern. I think she will be a Saturday class horse when she gets over 2000m."

A homebred for Rosemont Stud, Born Hustler, is the third winner from five to race out of the Pivotel mare Joint Aspiration (GB).

The outstanding performer is Starspangledbanner's Group II BRC Dane Ripper Stakes winner Brooklyn Hustle.

A daughter of the outstanding Pivotal, Joint Aspiration (GB) won a Listed race at Belmont and placed in Listed races at Newmarket and Kempton. Without threatening, she contested the Group 1 Fillies Mile, Epsom Oaks, 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and The Curragh and the Nassau Stakes.

Consigned to the 2007 Tattersalls November Mixed Sale, carrying a positive Test to Gone West (USA), Joint Aspiration (GB) was knocked down to French Bloodstock Agency for 320,000 guineas.

After foaling an Exceed And Excel colt last spring Joint Aspiration (GB) was covered by Starspangledbanner.
