Group Two-placed filly Best Seller got her season off to a flyer with a win in the $40,000 Taupo Pak’nSave (1100m) at Taupo on Wednesday.

Best Seller is an impressive winner for Wrote.

Despite being slow away she showed her quality when looming at the turn and gathered in her opposition to win by a long neck.

"Her sectionals on the day were very, very good," Highview's Brent Gillovic said. "In fact her sectionals when coming from last to run fourth in last season's G2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes were better than the winner, Wolverine!

"She was also a runner-up in the G2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes a two-year-old so it is really pleasing to see her train on.

"I know John Barry (Trainer) has a big opinion of her, so fingers crossed for the spring."

Barry has confirmed that her next start will be the G3 HB/PB Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Gold Trail Stakes (1200m) at Hastings next month.

Bred by the Hong Kong Breeders’ Club Best Seller is out of the Danroad mare Star Amazing and she was purchased by Adrian Clark’s Challenge Syndications out of our 2021 Karaka Book 2 draft.

On Saturday the Matthew Eales-trained gelding Sotirio caught the attention of racing fans with a winning debut in $30,000 James Hardie Industries (1200m) at Awapuni.

Sotirio is out of the Street Sense mare Eleni Whirl and he was bred by Evan Foreman.

Meanwhile across the Tasman at Kembla Grange, Boy Loves To Run crossed the line first in the A$40,000 Maiden Plate (1200m) for trainer Bjorn Baker only to be relegated to third place following interference.

Boy Loves To Run was purchased by Baker and Bevan Smith out of our Ready To Run Sale draft last year, and he was bred by Kurtis Gillovic out of the Johar mare Simply Boogie.

Wrote is currently the second leading sire of three-year-olds in New Zealand and we’re excited to follow the progress of his progeny over the spring.

Wrote stands at Higview Stud.
