Jungle Cat Filly Second in Valuable Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes

Telemon Thoroughbreds Jungle Cat (IRE) has a little first crop star in the filly Miss Jungle Cat who went down fighting in Saturday’s £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes (6f) at Newmarket overnight.

Making her seventh start of the year, Miss Jungle Cat was defeated by the Ed Walker-trained Amichi by three-quarters of a length.

A son of the Dark Angel stallion Gutaifan, Amichi was coming off a 2-length win at Kempton.

Second over 7f at Newmarket at her most recent start, Miss Jungle Cat made a winning career debut at Musselburgh in April and added a second win three starts later at York.

The first Australian crop of Jungle Cat (IRE) hit the track this season.

The winner of the Group 1 MRC Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield and Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan, Jungle Cat (IRE) bowed out of racing when third behind Santa Ana Lane and In Her Time in the Group 1 VRC Classic at Flemington in 2018.

The son of Iffraaj stands at a value fee of $11,000 at Telemon Thoroughbreds this spring.
