Metro Double for Vert de Grece

Relocating to Brisbane Meadows in NSW this spring, promising young sire Vert de Grece (IRE) posted a new winner in his former home of Western Australia on Wednesday when Candelight Supper broke her maiden at Belmont.

Second at her past two starts at Northam, she was sent out favourite for the 1700m maiden and strode home an easy two length winner.

Trained by Alan Matthews, Candlelight Supper looks as those there are more wins in store. She is the third winner from metro winning Red Ransom (USA) mare Rare Subject.

Vert de Grece is standing at Brisbane Meadows on the Southern Highlands of NSW.

Candlelight Supper is the sixth winner for Vert de Grece, who later made it a winning double when his four year-old gelding Green and Shady won the Class 3 Handicap over 1400m.

Vert de Grece is a Group I winning son of Verglas that will stand at Brisbane Meadows this spring at a fee of $4,000, read more about him here.
