Second on debut at Hawkesbury in November, Pizarro has not finished worse than second in five runs since and charged home with a well-timed burst under Hugh Bowman to win the Benchmark 72 event over 1300m by the best part of a length.

Pizarro was a $150,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Champion Thoroughbreds / John O'Shea Racing from the Vinery Stud draft and was bred by astute breeder Greg Perry, who has retained a share in his ownership.

A $150,000 Inglis Premier purchase, Pizarro combines the best of Vinery Stud sires All Too Hard and Testa Rossa .

Pizarro is a half-brother to Group III winner Bonvicini and is the second foal from Orvieto, a winning Testa Rossa mare from the family of stakes-winners Emmalene, Uncommon James and Open Minded.

With two wins and four seconds from six starts and prizemoney topping $200,000, it’s not hard to see Pizarro having a long and successful career as he matures and fulfils his potential.

All Too Hard has had an exceptional season siring four Group I winners in Alligator Blood, Behemoth, Wellington in Hong Kong and also brilliant mare Forbidden Love, who trialled in promising fashion for her spring return this week.,

All Too Hard stands at a fee of $38,500 at Vinery Stud this spring.
