Hugh Bowman won Sunday's Group I Underwood Stakes aboard Bonneval however, with just 52.5kg in the Caulfield Cup is out of the Bowman's range and the mount has gone to Kerrin McEvoy.

McEvoy stepped in to ride She Will Reign in Friday night's Group I Moir Stakes after Ben Melham was unable to get down to 50kg and rode Hartnell, which will require a new rider in the Caulfield Cup, into second place in the Underwood Stakes.

Baker trains Bonneval in partnership with Andrew Forsman and told The Informant he was keen to source a natural lightweight.

"It's good to get a natural lightweight like Kerrin McEvoy. Damian Lane will ride the mare in her final run before the Cup in the Caulfield Stakes, which is run the same day as The Everest in Sydney, and Stephen Baster will stay with Jon Snow," Baker said.

"We could have run him (Jon Snow) in the handicap on Caulfield Stakes day, but he's already got 54.5kg in the Cup and we couldn't risk a rehandicap."

Sportsbet has Bonneval equal favourite with Humidor at $5.50 for the Caulfield Cup.
