Runson went out hard as is his usual style and was never headed. Tribal Wisdom is potentially a Group horse and coming to hand nicely. In the unlikely event of a heavy track in the spring he can win a good race, probably still capable on firm.

1 GRANDE ROSSO 2 Modern Wonder 3 Shadow Fighter & Hey Doc

Grande Rosso had the advantage of the outside rail and won this in good style. He looks set for a good spring. Hey Doc (3rd) was never put under pressure at any stage and was well on the bridle through the line.

1 KOBAYASHI 2 Born To Fight 3 Snitzson

Kobayashi landed straight on the lead and was never headed. This was run cautiously early and strong late - the winner looks in good shape. Born To Fight will not be a maiden for much longer. Still has a bit to learn but a talent. Snitzson allowed to settle early before strong late. Verstappen (4th) travelled strongly all the way towards the centre of the track and not pressured late.

1 AZAZEL 2 Montevideo 3 Wild Horizon

Azazel was last of the group passing halfway before being ridden along to come through between horses to score. Montevideo travelled strongly all the way and was not pressured. Unraced three-year-old trained by Chris Waller and improved form on Sydney trials. Wild Horizon another to travel strongly all the way and not be put under any pressure. Pinot (4th) an unraced daughter of Pierro who was winding up nicely late. Risque (5th) travelled smoothly all the way - beaten two lengths.

1 LIVING DOLL 2 Wait For No One 3 Flash Boy

Living Doll raced on the speed all the way towards the centre of the track and was always under a hold to score by a neck. Wait For No One was tucked in behind horses before being allowed to run late. Flash Boy chased the winner in second place most of the way but not given a hard time, beaten one length.

1 CATCHY 2 Silentz 3 Weight In Gold

Catchy settled just behind the early speed towards the centre of the track. Cruised through late without any urging to score by a length. Silentz travelled on the speed most of the way towards the centre of the track and not knocked about late. Weight In Gold was blinkered and had the advantage of the outside rail. Always travelling well and just shaded Bouwmeester late. The second group of five horses covered by 1 1/2-lengths.

1 GROUNDBREAK 2 Muraahib 3 Watchmespin

Groundbreak led most of the way on the outside rail. This was run slowly through the first half with Groundbreak never off the bridle. Muraahib raced up the middle of the group and was always comfortable, not knocked about. Watchmespin again trialled well - on the speed all the way towards the outside. Formality (4th) raced nearest the centre of the track and always on the bridle, cruised through the finish, beaten 1 1/2-lengths. Tally (6th) looks terrific and was stoking up towards the finish without any riding.

1 CONSIDER IT DONE 2 Madeenaty 3 Buckhound

Madeenaty and Consider It Done were on opposite sides, Consider It Done always under a hold on the outside and just shading it on the line - both still well on the bridle and 1 1/2-lengths clear. Consider It Done an unraced two-year-old daughter of Manhattan Rain. Three in a line behind with Buckhound ridden along past halfway and just edging Stunned .

1 TULIP 2 Barthelona 3 Sanadaat

Another heat run steadily early, Tulip covered up before being allowed to stride on after halfway and powering through the line under a hold. Barthelona raced down the outside rail and was always travelling strongly, still under a hold through the final 100m. Sanadaat was back at the rear passing halfway before working home towards the centre of the track
