Winning Rupert's Billionair Baby Keeps the Roll Going for Celebrated Family

Mark Smith - Wednesday July 13

There were a few worries before the short-priced favourite Billionair Baby broke his maiden over 1200m at Doomben on Wednesday and completed a magical few days for a renowned Eureka Stud family.

Last Saturday, Billionair Baby’s half-brother Simply Fly (Spirit Of Boom) scored a barnstorming victory in the Listed BRC Chief De Beers Quality at Doomben, and shortly before Billionair Baby broke her maiden, close relation Heaven’s Wish made a winning career debut at Murray Bridge.

Ridden by James Orman for Robert Heathcote, Billionair Baby speared between runners after being buffeted when searching for a run. The son of Winning Rupert defeated the Russian Revolution filly, Russian Queen, by two lengths, with the Denman filly Echo Hunter a length and a half back in third.

It was a well-deserved win for Billionair Baby, who raced without luck when second at his first two starts and Doomben and the Sunshine Coast.

The son of Winning Rupert was a $40,000 purchase for Adrenaline Thoroughbreds from the Eureka Stud draft at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

He is the fifth winner from six to race out of the Group II Queensland Guineas winner Express Air (Piccolo).

Express Air is a half-sister to the dam of Group II Spirit Of Boom Classic and Group III Gold Coast Guineas winner Prince Of Boom.

Express Air’s dam Air's Precious is a half-sister to the dam of Heaven’s Wish and to the dam of triple Group 1 winner Incentivise (Shamus Award).

Express Air has a weanling filly by Encryption and visited Spirit Of Boom last spring.
