Having his first run this year following an unplaced debut in the Inglis Banner last spring, the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young trained Tattenham was super impressive for Daniel Moor.

The striking bay charged into contention with a brilliant turn of foot over the final furlong and raced away to win the 1300m maiden against older rivals eased down by three lengths.

“He’s a bit of a lad, but he loves his work… he just doesn’t know what he’s doing yet, but I’m hopeful he can learn to focus and improve,” said Moor.

Bred by Segenhoe, Tattenham was a $120,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Segenhoe draft for Busuttin Racing and is the second winner from well bred winning High Chaparral (IRE) mare Sprout, a half-sister to Group III winner Colour from the True Blonde branch of the Easy Date family.

Tattenham becomes the sixth winner for I Am Invincible’s brilliant Group I winning sprinter Hellbent, who stands at a fee of $22,000 this spring.
