No Spring for Think It Over

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 6

Spring racing will be without charismatic So You Think gelding Think It Over, who will not ace again this year due to a tendon injury.

His trainer Kerry Parker has confirmed today his stable star will be heading for a lengthy spell followed by possible rehabilitation, ending dreams of his anticipated Cox Plate assault.

“The horse’s well-being and recovery are paramount,’’ Parker said in a statement.

“I’m sure his fans, particularly the groundswell of support from his hometown of Wollongong will be as disappointed as we are, and it would be heartbreaking to think this could be the end of his career.

“But if ever there was a horse that can beat the odds and make a successful comeback it is our ‘Sid’.’’

A homebred for Richard Johnston of Bylong Park, Think It Over has improved in each and every season of racing with the six year-old soaring to new heights this year with his career defining win the $4million Group I ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick.

His dam Personal Service was one of 204 mares covered last spring by his sire So You Think.
