Snitzel 3YO’s a Powerhouse of Success

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 4

Arrowfield Stud’s Snitzel has had his usual good season with his 2YO’s, but his 3YO’s have been a powerhouse of success making him the leading sire in the country by 3YO winners and 3YO stakes-winners.

67 Aussie winners by Snitzel have claimed 100 wins earning $6.9 million and featuring eight individual stakes-winners headed by Group I winners In the Congo and Yearning.

Given the depth of talent Snitzel has in this crop of 3YO’s it’s hard not to think he may have a strong hand in the $10million ATC Golden Eagle (1500m) for 4YO’s to be run at Rosehill on October 29.

Widden Stud’s Star Witness is keeping good company on this list with this crop of 3YO’s conceived in 2017 off a fee rise following the deeds of his multiple Group I winning filly Global Glamour.

Star Witness is a value option at Widden stud Victoria this spring at a fee of just $14,300.
