Inglis Digital Graduates Race Up a Storm

Media Release - Sunday June 19

Inglis Digital graduates continued their stunning season of success today as Holyfield (I Am Invincible) won the Listed Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich and Naval Seal (Snitzel) and Nasraawy (Snitzel) saluted at Rosehill and Flemington respectively.

In all, Inglis grads won three Australian Stakes races today as the untapped Passive Aggressive (Fastnet Rock) was victorious in the Listed Creswick Stakes at Flemington – keeping her unbeaten record intact from four starts - and Smart Meteor (Smart Missile) proved too strong in the Listed Ipswich Cup.

But it was a red letter day for Inglis Digital, whose graduates have now won more than 2500 Australian races this season alone.

For Holyfield (pictured), it continued his fantastic return on investment for his trainer Annabel Neasham and connections, who paid $180,000 for him in the 2021 July (Late) Sale.

Today’s win – his third at Stakes level for his career – saw Holyfield’s earnings since his Digital purchase soar to $410,950.

“It was a great result for the owners, they’re having a fabulous ride with this horse and it was great to see him win another Stakes race,’’ Neasham said.

“Holyfield has always shown so much talent and if you look back through his career, he’s rarely run a bad race and I thought his form going into today was really strong so it was great to get the win.

“I’ve had plenty of success through Inglis Digital, it’s a great place to sell horses and a great platform to buy horses as well, we’re looking at every catalogue, it’s pretty much a staple now twice a month for us.’’

Naval Seal’s win in a $130,000 1800m contest at Rosehill came at his first start since selling to Guy Mulcaster for $245,000 in the June (Early) Sale less than a fortnight ago.

Trained by Chris Waller, 3YO Naval Seal is an up-and-coming talent, with his overall record now six starts for two wins and three minor placings.

And Nasraawy’s win at Flemington was his third since trainer Gavin Bedggood paid just $15,000 for him in last year’s April (Early) Online Sale.

He has returned almost seven times his investment, with today’s victory seeing his earnings since his digital purchase rise to $103,475.

Entries for the Inglis Digital June (Late) Sale are now open and will remain so until midnight on Wednesday.

The Sale, with early entries already including mares in foal to the likes of Kingman, Written Tycoon and Zoustar amongst others, will open for bidding on Friday afternoon, and close from midday on Wednesday June 29.

Also at Flemington today, exciting 3YO filly Passive Aggressive made it four wins from as many starts and a valuable first Stakes success at her first attempt when winning the Listed Creswick Stakes, a race won in the past by world champion sprinter and Inglis graduate Nature Strip (Nicconi).

It was one of the strongest renewals of the winter feature for many years, with the likes of talented 3YOs Star Patrol, Gimmie Par, Karacasu, Pascero and I Am Me etc finishing behind her.

Trained by Grahame Begg, Passive Aggressive is a $500,000 Easter Yearling Sale buy for Dean Hawthorne, from the draft of her breeder, Cressfield.

And Smart Meteor scored a deserving first Stakes win in the Listed Ipswich Cup, having been twice Stakes placed prior to today.

His trainer Chris Munce purchased Smart Meteor at the Classic Yearling Sale for $50,000 from the Gooree Park Stud draft.

The 5YO has now won almost $500,000 in earnings.

In Singapore this evening, Golden Monkey (Star Turn) led in an Inglis grads quinella in the G3 Singapore Sprint when defeating odds on favourite Silent Is Gold.

It was a first Stakes success at just his ninth start for the Tim Fitzsimmons-trained Golden Monkey, a graduate of the 2020 Inglis Ready2Race Sale, where he was offered by Blake Ryan.

Prior to that, Golden Monkey was a $54,000 Classic Yearling Sale purchase for Research Bloodstock, from the Byerley Stud draft, who offered him on behalf of his breeder, Howard Blight of Bendaree Park Stud.

Entries are now open for this year’s Inglis Ready2Race Sale, which will be held at Riverside on Tuesday October 11.
