$300,000 Toronado Weanling Colt Sets Riverside Alight

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 4

Swettenham Stud’s Toronado (IRE) has been given a substantial fee increase this year rising from $49,500 to $88,000 and his growing prestige was reflected in the sale ring during the first session of the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale when a colt from Ain’t She Smart was bought for $300,000.

Offered by Bell River Thoroughbreds, the colt was bought by a great judge in Peter O’Brien and is the fourth foal of unraced Smart Missile mare Ain’t She Smart, a half-sister to stakes-winner Ain’tnodeeldun from stakes-winner Ain’tnofallenstar.

$300,000 Toronado (IRE) colt from Ain't She Smart.

Built for speed with a huge hindquarter, the colt is reminiscent of Toronado’s Group I sprinters Masked Crusader and Shelby Sixtysix.
