Settled last in the early stages by Brad Parnham, Profit Street was brought out wide in the home straight before letting down with a big finish to overwhelm his rivals, going away to defeat Flying Time ($11) by 1 1/4-lengths with It's It ($8.50) a further 3 3/4-lengths behind in third.

Topweight First Among Equals started the $3.50 favourite and was beaten 4 1/4-lengths into fourth after finding some traffic early in the home straight.

It is the first stakes success for Profit Street, a five-year-old son of Viscount whose career has been restricted by illness to 21 starts.

Co-trainer Matthew Giadresco told the West Australian Profit Street was in the best form of his life.

"He's been great this prep, I'm just really happy. He's been going great," Giadresco said.

"I rode him Thursday and he just felt brilliant underneath me."

Profit Street was carrying the minimum 54kg with the topweight First Among Equals carrying 61kg. Profit Street carried 60kg to victory in lesser grade at his previous start and Giadresco said the drop played its part.

"He's just got a good turn of foot and he can carry weight," Giadresco said.

"He was a little bit tardy at the start, but he (Parnham) was able to loom him up, very balanced and just kick away."

Giadresco said Profit Street is likely to run next in the Listed Belmont Newmarket (1200m) in a fortnight.
