Carrying the colours of Ron and Judy Wanless, Hollywood Park was having his third race start after a debut fifth and then an improving third at his second start.

Stepped up to 1732m, he led all the way and was strong to the line to win by two and a half lengths.

Hollywood Park was a $210,000 NZB Book 1 purchase for his trainer from the Valachi Downs draft and is a half-brother to Group II winner Needle and Thread and stakes-winner Savile Row being the fifth winner from five to race from blueblood import Fleece (GB).

Fleece is a half-sister by Daylami to Group III winner Chintz, the dam of dual Group I winner and Champion 3YO the Gurkha.

American Pharoah has had a good week with two year-old colt Tijuana winning the Listed VRC ANZAC Day Stakes on Monday and he has a strong chance in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks this Saturday with the Chris Waller trained Pretty Amazing set to take her place.
