Spirit of Boom Joins Century Club

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 17

Eureka Stud’s flagship sire Spirit of Boom joined the century club over the weekend posting his 100th winner for the season when two year-old colt Allude saluted at Eagle Farm.

An $80,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for B K Racing, the Chris Munce trained Alllude scored by a length and a half over another Spirit of Boom in Al Pal’s Gal.

Spirit of Boom is the first Queensland sire to hit the mark this year and his winners include four stakes-winners – Group I winner Jonker along with Miami Fleiss and 2YO  stakes-winners Palazzo Spirit and Get in the Spirit.

He is also running second in the 2YO Sires List by winners, which is topped by another Queensland based sire in Lyndhurst Stud’s Better Than Ready.

The current crop of 2YO’s by Spirit of Boom are those conceived when his fee rose to $55,000 from $11,000 and he covered his biggest and best ever book of mares.

This powerhouse group of horses will no doubt propel Spirit of Boom to greater heights as they mature and fulfil their potential.
