One to Watch – Wyong

Tara Madgwick - Thursday April 14

Annabel Neasham has churned out 2YO winners this season and added another talented juvenile to the tally at Wyong on Thursday by under-rated sire Ilovethiscity.

A $120,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Annabel Neasham Racing / B McGuire, promising filly Diamond City is the most expensive yearling filly by her sire and has ability to match her good looks.

Diamond City made a few mistakes when unplaced on debut in the Group III VRC Ottawa Stakes back in the spring, but has put it altogether this preparation.

She was narrowly beaten into third place when resuming at Newcastle last month and bounced back to race clear and win the 1100m juvenile maiden by two and a half lengths as favourite at her third start.

Diamond City was bred and offered for sale by Victorian breeder Chris Rentessis, who retains a share in her ownership.

She is a full sister to Group placed stakes-winner King of Hastings, who won over $600,000 and her dam Handcut has been a regular visitor to Ilovethiscity, so has a yearling and weanling filly to follow by the Noor Elaine Farm based sire.

Ilovethiscity stands at Noore Elaine Farm, click for more information.

Ilovethiscity has good representation at the upcoming Inglis Gold Yearling Sale in Victoria where he has nine catalogued.
