Divine Prophet's See You In Heaven Impresses in the Dequetteville Stakes

Mark Smith - Saturday April 9

A winner of the Group III Ottawa Stakes (1000m) on Oaks Day at Flemington last November, the Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained See You in Heaven was third on resumption in the Listed Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville on March 4.

The daughter of Divine Prophet took plenty from that race. With Paul Gatt in the saddle, See You in Heaven retuned to the winner’s circle with a fast-finishing win in Saturday’s Listed Dequetteville Stakes at Morphettville.

Allowed to drift out to $12, See You in Heaven overpowered her sensationally backed stablemate Aitch Two Oh (Headwater) by one and half lengths,  with Wee Nessy (Snitzel) a half-length back in third.

A $27,000 purchase by Kestrel Thoroughbreds when offered by Aquis at the 2020 National Weanling Sale, See You In Heaven was consigned by Alexia Fraser Bloodstock to the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, where she was knocked down to Richard and Chantelle Jolly for $90,000.

See You In heaven is the fifth winner from six to race out of the Melbourne winning Anabaa mare Shine On Anna.

Aquis Farm purchased Shine On Anna for $33,000 from Yarraman Park Stud draft at the 2018 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale before selling her for just $6,000 on Inglis Digital two years later.

A daughter of the stakes-placed Machiavellian mare Shine On Me, Shine On Anna foaled a weanling colt by Cliff’s Edge and was covered by Toronado (IRE) last spring.

See You In Heaven comes from the second crop of Divine Prophet who stands at Aquis Stud for a fee of $16,500 (inc gst).
