An array of highlights in the April (Early) Online Sale

A bevy of outstanding racing and breeding prospects have been catalogued for the Inglis Digital April (Early) Online Sale, which is now open for bidding.

A total of 292 lots have been finalised for the sale including 114 broodmares, 67 racehorses, 55 race fillies, 30 racehorse shares, 22 yearlings, 2 weanlings, 1 stallion prospect and 1 unraced thoroughbred.

Quick Thinker has been sold as a stallion for Tasmania.

The April (Early) catalogue launches as a new top lot for the March (Late) Sale is confirmed, with G1 winner Quick Thinker selling to Tasmanian breeder Mandy Gunn of Motree Thoroughbreds for $350,000.

Quick Thinker – the 2020 Australian Derby winner – will be Motree’s foundation stallion.

Among the highlights of the April (Early) catalogue are:

*Chief Ironside – G2 winning entire and stallion prospect with a Danehill-free pedigree

*Coolist – Well-bred Capitalist filly whose half sibling sold for $800,000 at Easter this week

*Dauntless – Not A Single Doubt 3YO filly, a $260,000 yearling with considerable racing and breeding prospects

*Eperdument (pictured) – G3-winning mare from the family of champion Miss Finland, Stakes placed six weeks ago

*Matowatakpe – Six-time winner, recently second to talented galloper Taksu at Rosehill on Coolmore Classic Day

*My Amazing Dream – half sister to star sprinter Lost And Running, already a proven black type producer and offered in foal to exciting young stallion Brutal

*Mystic Mirrors – Unraced 3YO filly, a half sister to G1 Toorak winner He’s Our Rokkii

*Sixgun – Lightly-raced Snitzel 4YO, has defeated the likes of Rocketing By, Prime Star, Hulk, Fastconi etc

*Super Thief – Two-time winner from just five starts from Lindsay Park

*Symphonia – Half sister to G1 winner Mentality, offered in foal to popular young stallion Shalaa

*Thera – An I Am Invincible filly who was an $800,000 yearling and is out of a half sister to G1 winner Earthquake

*Yearlings by sires such as Shamus Award, Adelaide, Press Statement, Bel Esprit, Lean Mean Machine, Pariah, No Nay Never, Showtime etc

As breeding season approaches there are also mares in foal to the likes of Shamus Award, Street Boss, Rebel Dane, Shalaa, Invader, Written By, Menari, Star Turn, Prague, Fiorente, Astern, Fierce Impact, Cosmic Force etc.

There are also offerings from the likes of Ciaron Maher Racing, Chris Waller, Bjorn Baker, Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, First Light Racing, Kingstar Farm, Noogee Park, Belmont Bloodstock, Coolmore, Phillip Stokes etc.

On the recent purchase of Quick Thinker, Gunn said: “He’ll be our foundation stallion, we’ve been expanding our broodmare band of late and we’re thrilled to get a horse of his calibre to help us into the next phase.

“We love breeding staying types and we think Quick Thinker will be a perfect match for our mares and a valuable asset for our broodmare band.’’

OTI's Terry Henderson, who offered Quick Thinker, added: “The service Inglis Digital provided was exceptional. Everything they said they would do - they did, whilst communicating throughout the process from start to finish. The determination to pursue every avenue for a sale is all a vendor can ever ask and the Inglis Digital team certainly fulfilled that obligation in a most diligent and professional manner. Overall, I could not have asked more from their efforts.”

Quick Thinker’s sale takes the March (Late) catalogue gross to $3.7m.

Inglis Digital graduates continue to race successfully on the track for their new owners.

Just last weekend alone graduates of the platform won 58 races for $1,031,165 in earnings, headlined by G1 placegetter She’s Extreme (2nd to Fireburn in Inglis Sires), Stakes winner Gundec, Country Championships placegetter Amulet Street and winners of the Mt Gambier Cup (Clever Man), Hillston Cup (Kazoom), Noorama Cup (Rinviata) and Gundagai Cup (Prince of Helena).

The final countdown of bidding for the April (Early) Sale begins from 3pm Wednesday.
