Zoustar Juvenile Quinella

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 6

Pouring rain and a heavy 10 track proved no hurdle for talented Zoustar filly Zougotcha at Canterbury on Wednesday when she made a winning debut for the Chris Waller stable.

With only one previous trial under her belt, Zougotcha made light of the testing conditions and her lack of experience to score a stylish three length win under James McDonald with well bred Zoustar colt Zou Tiger doing a good job for second.

“She’s been a lovely filly from day one and will keep improving,” said stable representative Damien Fitton.

A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Widden Stud draft for Chris Waller Racing / Mulcaster Bloodstock, Zougotcha runs for a syndicate of stable clients with her breeders Widden Stud and Robert Anderson retaining an interest.

Zougotcha was a $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase form the Widden Stud draft.

She is a full sister to stakes-winner Persuader and half-sister to stakes-winner The Actuary being the fourth winner from stakes-placed Fast Talker, a half-sister by Fastnet Rock to stakes-winner Crystal Dreamer.

Fast Talker comes from the family of Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily and was covered last year by Written Tycoon, but has not had a foal since Zougotcha.
