Shinn wins appeal and free to ride in The Everest

Blake Shinn is free to ride in the $10 million The Everest (1200m) after having a careless riding suspension overturned by the Racing NSW appeal panel on Thursday.

Flanked by lawyer Paul O'Sullivan and former jockey and trainer Kevin Moses, Shinn successfully contested a 10-meeting ban for his ride aboard Pariah in last Saturday's Group I Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill.

Shinn, who celebrated his 30th birthday this week, is yet to be officially confirmed for a ride in The Everest but is booked to partner the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained English in Saturday's Group II Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

The Melbourne Cup winning jockey also has multiple Group I engagements across the weekend, including Epsom Handicap favourite Happy Clapper.
