Buckle up - the 2022 Inglis Easter Australian Yearling Sale begins on Tuesday, and it promises to be epic.

With an international buying bench back in town and the crème de la crème of yearlings on offer, there is confidence that this will continue the record-setting sales run this year.

Let’s look at a selection of lots on the opening day that have drawn favourable comments during inspections..

Dm is a Moonee Valley winning half-sister to Listed winner and Group 1 MRC Toorak Hcp runner-up Great Esteem and Listed winner High Esteem. From the family of Moon Ballad, Central Park, Mellow Park and Velvet Moon.

Lot No: 32 B F I Am Invincible x Zamzam by Redoute’s Choice

Consignor: Fernrigg Farm

A $300,000 National Weanling Sale pinhook, this filly is a sister to this seasons Breeders’ Plate runner-up Zambezi River who was a $1,150,000 buy here last year.

Dam is a stakes-winning three-quarter sister to Lipari, dam of Group 1 ATC Derby winner Lavendi, and Group III winners Wu Gok and Marcel From Madrid.

Lot No: 35 B F Dundeel x Abbey Marie by Redoute’s Choice

Consignor: Arrowfield Stud

Second foal of Group 1 SAJC Schweppes Oaks winning sister to Group 1 Australian Oaks heroine Absolutely and a half-sister to Group III winner Runaway.

Dam’s Deep Impact (JPN) filly made $900,000 here last year. She has been named Jolted and recently finished second in a barrier trial at Randwick for John Sargent.

Lot No: 38 B C The Autumn Sun x Acquired by O’Reilly

Consignor: Highgrove Stud

All four of the dams foals to race are winners headed by the multiple Group II winner Splintex, Listed winner Invictus Salute, and stakes-placed Acqume.

Dam is a stakes-placed half-sister to the outstanding broodmare Hips Don’t Lie.

Brother to Listed winner Hindaam.

Dam is a sister to Merchant Navy, Jolie Bay and Setanta. Her last two foals to sell by Savabeel have sold for $875,000 and $825,000.

Second foal of a stakes-winning sister to the dam of the exciting Espinosa and three-quarter sister to Rare Insight the dam of Coolmore classic winner steps In Time. A $1.2million broodmare purchase, Bonny O’Reilly is also a half-sister to stakes-winner Pretty To See.

Her first foal, a colt by Snitzel sold to Tom Magnier last year for $1.9 million.

Third foal of a stakes-winning half-sister to Group III winner and Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint runner-up Jolly Roger and to Listed winner Wales.

From the family of the great Makybe Diva, a sister to this colt made $400,000 here last year.

Lot No: 96 B or Br C Snitzel x Carry on Alice (SAF) by Captain Al

Snitzel has another amazing draft, and this highly appealing colt is a brother to the colt that made $700,000 here last year.

He is the second foal of Carry On Alice the Champion Sprinter & Older Female in South Africa in 2016-17. Her 11 wins included five at the highest level.

Lot No: 111 B C Fastnet Rock x Ciarlet by Northern Meteor

Consignor: Coolmore Stud.

Third foal of a metropolitan winning sister to leading sire Zoustar and the Irish stakes-winner Emperor of The Sun.

A brother to this colt made $825,000 last year.

Lot No: 115 B F Zoustar x Comprende by I Am Invincible

Consignor: Widden Stud.

A half-sister to this season’s promising 2yo Snitzel filly Serda, a $450,00 yearling.

This is the second foal of stakes-placed half-sister to Group III winners Excites Zelady and  Zelady's Night Out.

Dam was a $1,050,000 broodmare purchase in 2017.

Lot No: 136 Ch C Not A Single Doubt x Di Lusso by Lonhro

Consignor: Amarina Farm

From the final crop of sale ring favourite Not a Single Doubt this flashy colt is a half-brother to two winners including the Group II Eight Carat Classic and Group 1 NZ Oaks runner-up Contessa Vanessa.

A brother to this colt made $350,000 last year.

Lot No: 144 B or Br C I Am Invincible x Egyptian Symbol by Stratum

Consignor: Cressfield

First foal of a dual Group III winning daughter of the Champion Older Female Sprinter in NZ in 2002-03, Our Egyptian Raine winner of the Group 1 AuRC Railway Handicap and placed a further nine times at Group1 level.

Lot No: 145 B F I Am Invincible x Ektifaa by More Than Ready

Consignor: Yarraman Park Stud.

This filly was a $600,000 pinhook by Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA) at the National Weanling Sale, so expectations are high.

She is the second foal of a South African Group II winner from the family of this seasons smart 2yo Millane (Zoustar), who made $1,150,000 here last year.

Lot No: 154 B F Justify (USA) x Ennis Hill by Fastnet Rock

Consignor: Coolmore Stud.

From the first crop of Triple Crown winner Justify (USA) this filly is out of a Group III winning sister to the new Coolmore stallion Acrobat and the Group III winner Lake Geneva who was runner-up in the Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond Stakes.

This mare’s first foal by American Pharoah (USA) sold for $625,000 last year.

Nothing from this family comes cheap.

Lot No: 159 Br F Fastnet Rock x Faayza by O’Reilly

Consignor: Rosemont Stud

Rosemont shelled out $300,000 in 2019 to purchase the unraced Faayza, a half-sister to Group 1 Vinery Stud stakes winner Hiyaam who placed in the ATC Oaks and VRC Oaks.

Lot No: 169 B C I Am Invincible x Fireworks by Snitzel

Consignor: Segenhoe Thoroughbreds

From the same family of lot 145, this colt is a half-brother to this seasons Listed stakes winner Millane (Zoustar) who was sold here last year for $1,150,000.

This colt’s dam won the Group III Widden Stakes and is a half-sister to three stakes-winners led by Calveen the Champion Sprinter, Miler & Older Female Miler in NZ in 2004-05

Lot No: 210 B C Written Tycoon x Hell Or High Water by Not A Single Doubt

Consignor: Rosemont Stud

A $510,000 National Weanling Sale pinhook, this colt is the second foal of very talented racemare whose eight wins included the Listed MRC Heatherlie Stakes.
