Another Smart Winner for Russian Revolution

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 26

Leading first season sire Russian Revolution posted a new winner at Newcastle on Saturday when the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained gelding Russian Roni saluted at his third start.

Russian Roni showed the benefit of recent racing, appreciating a step up to 1200m to win by two lengths running away.

A $150,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Sun Stud draft for Adrian Bott & Gai Waterhouse Racing / Kestrel Thoroughbreds, Russian Roni is the first winner for stakes-winning import Cadet Roni (USA).

Bred and sold by Sun Stud, Russian Roni as a yearling.

This female family has had some success in Australia this season producing stakes-winning juvenile El Padrino.

Russian Roni is the sixth first crop winner for Russian Revolution, who has left two Group winners in Revolutionary Miss and Rise of the Masses as well as stakes-placed Russian Conquest

Newgate Farm’s dual Group I winning son of Snitzel has five entries for Inglis Easter.
