Derby Prospect for Frankel

Tara Madgwick - Friday March 11

Entered for the Group I ATC Australian Derby, promising Frankel colt Money From the Sky has been a work in progress for Mark Newnham for some time and finally joined the dots at Goulburn on Friday when scoring a dominant maiden win.

Placed at three of his first four starts, Money From the Sky handled the heavy track like a pro and cruised to a two and a quarter length win in the 1600m maiden.

The two fillies he defeated Taizai (Maurice Jpn from Oaks winner Brazilian Pulse)) and Queenmaker (Tavistock) are both entered for the Group I ATC Australian Oaks, so this may well prove a very strong form race.

This may well be the stepping stone to better things for Money from the Sky, who was a $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Viribright Racing from the Canning Downs Stud draft.

Money From the Sky was a $200,000 MM yearling purchase.

He is bred for classic aspirations being a half-brother to French Group III winner Sky Kingdom from New Zealand dual Group I winner We Can Say It Now, who is by Australian Derby winner Starcraft from a mare by Epsom Derby winner Generous.

He is the last foal from We Can Say It Now, who died in 2018.

There is just one yearling by Frankel in Inglis Easter this year and it’s Lot 131, a colt from Group I winner Dear Demi offered by Strawberry Hill Stud.
