A string of recent winners for Rubick and a star 2YO in G1 Blue Diamond place-getter Jacquinot will make quite a few yearling buyers take a second look at Rubick and why not purchase one from a farm that has produced some of his best.

Ian Smith of Edinburgh Park has taken four yearlings to South Australia for the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale and three of them are by Rubick, best known as the sire of Champion 3YO Yes Yes Yes, who scored a memorable record breaking win in the 2019 The Everest.

While Yes Yes Yes is the best to date for Rubick, his next best performer is multiple Group winning $1.2million earner Rubisaki, who was bred and sold by Edinburgh Park and she’s not the only good Rubick to come off the Wingham based nursery.

Edinburgh Park also bred and sold stakes-placed Alburq, who placed in a Blue Diamond Preview and has gone on to win over $320,000 in prizemoney.

“We’ve had some luck with Rubick and he can certainly get a runner,” said Ian Smith.

“We sold Rubisaki in Book 2 at Inglis Classic for $85,000 to Joe O’Neill of Prime Thoroughbreds and she did an amazing job for her large group of owners, winning twice at two and training on at three to win the $1million Inglis Sprint as well as several Group races in Sydney and Melbourne.

“Fast and tough she was also Group I placed in the Robert Sangster Classic.”

Edinburgh Park will present four yearlings at Magic Millions Adelaide and three of them are by Rubick with the draft set to follow on from earlier sales success this year at Magic Millions and Inglis Premier.

Edinburgh Park sold nine yearlings for $3,070,000 at Magic Millions highlighted by an $800,000 Snitzel colt from Our Crown Mistress, while at Inglis Premier they sold five for $1,020,000 highlighted by an Exceed and Excel colt from Royal Bender for $300,000.

“We’ve had a great sales season and our yearlings have gone from strength to strength,” Ian Smith added.
