Breednet Track First Season Sires at the Trials

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 14

At this time of year there is great interest in the progeny of first season sires stepping out at the trials so Breednet are tracking them and our report for this week features nine stallions with unraced trial winners in the pipeline including Hellbent, who has had five unraced triallers this month.

Warby is a well named colt by Hellbent from Speedboat.

The best of those on paper is $300,000 Magic Millions purchase Warby, the half-brother to Group I ATC Champagne Stakes winner Captivant.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Warby won his first trial at Warwick Farm on Monday (read about him here) and is a second acceptor for the Golden Slipper and holds an entry for the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes.

The report catalogues the performance of all progeny of first season sires up until they race offering a quick way to see anything of interest that may be in the pipeline.

These horses remain on the list up until they go to the races, so the list only features UNRACED two year-olds.

First season sires with trial winners on this list this week are: Caravaggio (USA), Hellbent, Heroic Valour, Highland Reel (IRE), Impending, Invader, Merchant Navy, Pariah and The Mission.

Several of their heat winners are entered to race this weekend so there will be plenty of action to watch on Saturday.
