High Quality Yearlings & Broodmares Offered Online at Bloodstockauction

Media Release - Monday February 14

Bloodstockauction.com's latest sale is up and running so be sure to get your bids in by Tuesday evening... noting that there are a number of high-quality yearlings and broodmares on offer.

Several up-and-coming young stallions such as Xtravagant, Supido, Mikki Isle, Divine Prophet, Headwater, Pariah, Exosphere, Rich Enuff, Prized Icon, Grunt and Churchill are nicely represented by well related yearlings as are such proven sires as Rubick, Kermadec, Domesday and Starspangledbanner.

With the speedster Supido making such an encouraging start with his debut crop (the exciting Stupendo showing plenty of talent) lot 3 will have plenty of fans - his dam (a half-sister to the dual Gr.1 winning sprinter Turffontein) being the proven high class broodmare Graces Spirit, dam of the Group winners Beauty Spirit and Vergara. And this is the same prolific Royal News family as Saturday's barnstorming Blue Diamond Prelude winner Lofty Strike!

Already siring four stakes winners, Headwater is doing the job and lot 7 is out of a terrific racemare in Wicked Wanda - the very tough winner of ten races (including three as a two-year-old) whose dam is the Gr.3 winner Princess Pulse.

What a versatile and classy horse Prized Icon was, a Gr.1 winner at two of the Champagne Stakes and at three in the VRC Derby and his first crop are impressing - such as lot 18, the first foal for a half-sister to the classy Hong Kong galloper Fat Turtle. He is one for pedigree buffs, boasting three crosses of his own prolific family.

The globe-trotting multiple Gr.1 winner Starspangledbanner is proving his worth in both hemispheres and there are not a lot of chances to secure his progeny - making lot 25 a great opportunity - especially as she hails from one of Australia's favourite families, that of Canny Lad, Canny Lass, Guelph, Bivouac, Camarena, Camarilla and Sepoy - all grand Gr.1 campaigners.

There are also a lovely group of broodmares on offer including daughters of Pentire, High Chaparral, Hussonet, Red Ransom, Spirit Of Boom, Street Cry, Lope de Vega, O'Reilly, Peintre Celebre and Stravinsky.

And they are in foal to some very very nice stallions - such as Queensland's most expensive sire Pierata, the Gr.1 All-Aged Stakes and Magic Millions Guineas winner by whom lot 91 Sacred Time was served in October. And what a pedigree she has, hailing from the same family as the superstar stallion Danehill - her dam being a half-sister to the stakes placed city winner Forty Thirty.

Attracting plenty of early attention in bidding is lot 92, Snapchat Girl - a city winning daughter of the outstanding stallion Lope de Vega in foal on an August service date to Snitzel's highly promising Gr.1 son Invader. And what a package this is - this imposing seven-year-old being sold with a colt by none other than So You Think at foot! This is a great family too, that which produced the recently retired Golden Slipper hero Stay Inside.

Another in foal to a highly regarded stallion is lot 94; Sunbrella whose seven foals to race are all winners. By the high class broodmare sire Peintre Celebre (71 stakes winners) from a Gr.1 family, she is in foal on a September service to Redoute's Choice's dual Gr.1 winning son King's Legacy who commands a $33,000 service fee at Coolmore.

The wonderful stallion High Chaparral is another doing a great job as a broodmare sire with his daughters already producing 39 stakes winners (including the weekend's Gr.1 winner Coventina Bay) and lot 99 - fresh off the track - is his daughter Covert Bay, a four times winner whose dam is a city winning daughter of one of Western Australia's best broodmares, the triple stakes winner Most Secret.
