Extreme Choice Colt to Star for Valiant Stud

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 1

Yearlings by exciting young sire Extreme Choice were hot property at Magic Millions last month and vendors offering his youngsters at Inglis Classic are sure to be kept busy this week with inspections and the first of them to be offered through the ring on Sunday comes from Valiant Stud.

Offered on behalf of Dr Richard McClenahan of Mullaglass Stud, Lot 86 is a strapping chestnut Extreme Choice colt from Miss Spirituality.

A half-brother to a winner, he is from an unraced half-sister by Starcraft to Group III placed juvenile winner Slumber Party.

The colt has an intriguing pedigree as his third dam Group II placed Hanky Panky is a half-sister to Extreme Choice’s sire Not a Single Doubt, so he is line bred 3 x 4 to Easy Date’s influential daughter Singles Bar.

Mullaglass Stud have a great record at Inglis Classic having bred and sold Group I winner Hellbent at this sale and they also bred the top lot at last year’s sale, a Capitalist colt from Theatric that sold for $625,000.

Valiant Stud will offer another Capitalist colt for Mullaglass Stud this year with Lot 527, a colt from Group III placed Elfee (NZ) sure to have plenty of admirers.

He is the first foal of a tough Kiwi bred daughter of Iffraaj (GB) that won 10 races from 1200 to 2000m and traces back to a top class European Black Type family.

Valiant Stud will offer a draft of 26 with some additional highlights below:

Lot 148 Colt Ocean Park x Poppy O’Neil, by Pins

Only colt in the sale by Cox Plate winning Group I sire Ocean Park. First foal of a half-sister by Pins to Group II winner She Will Be Loved and to the dam of Group II winner Luke’s Luck with this season’s smart two year-old winner Lady Laguna a new addition to the page.

Lot 288 Filly The Autumn Sun x Talimena, by Lonhro

From the first crop of Champion 3YO The Autumn Sun and is from a winning half-sister to Champion 2YO Filly and Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi. First three dams are by champion sire Lonhro and Golden Slipper winners Canny Lad and Vain with the family also producing Group I winners Denman and Preserve.

Lot 372 Colt Pride of Dubai x Allez France, by Hennessy (USA)

Last foal from terrific producing stakes-winner Allez France, who has left seven winners headed by stakes-winner Superfly, stakes-placed Montelimar and A Knight in Paris and French Declaration, who have both won more races since the catalogue went to print.

Lot 613 Colt Impending x High Above, by High Chaparral (IRE)

From the second crop of Lonhro’s Group I winning son Impending and is a half-brother to two winners from a well bred metro winning daughter of High Chaparral. Comes from a very successful Gooree Stud nurtured family that has produced dual Group I winner Prized Icon and a slew of stakes horses.

See the draft at Barn G Stables 14 – 38.
