One to Watch – Scone

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 28

The Magic Millions 2YO Classic came up too quickly for this daughter of Lonhro, but Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott are sure to find some nice races for her in coming weeks.

Trendy Lass was dispatched to Scone on Friday for an open juvenile event over 900m and ran as her price suggested, toying with her opponents to win by two and a half lengths in a dominant display.

A $170,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Twin Hills Stud draft for Dynamic Syndications/Dean Watt Bloodstock, Trendy Lass is the first living foal from Classic Vogue (NZ), a winning half-sister by Mastercraftsman (IRE) to Group I ATC Australian Oaks winner Wild Iris, the dam of Group II winner and $1.2million earner Zanbagh.

Trendy Lass was a $170,000 Magic Millions purchase for Dynamic Syndications.

Classic Vogue won at 2000m, so for Trendy Lass to show so much brilliance over a shorter trip could well be an indicator she has a very bright future and she is among the second acceptors for the 2022 Golden Slipper

Classic Vogue has been bred to more staying sires in recent years and has a yearling colt by Fiorente (IRE), a weanling colt by So You Think and was covered last spring by Dundeel.
