Million Dollar Inglis Graduate wins HK G1

Media Release - Monday January 24

Stronger (Not a Single Doubt) has become the 66th Inglis G1-winning graduate since 2018 with a tenacious win in the Centenary Sprint Cup in Hong Kong this evening.

It's the fourth successive year that the race has been won by an Inglis graduate, following dual victor Beat The Clock (2019, 2020) and Hot King Prawn (2021).

Stronger was purchased for $1.05 million by James Harron Bloodstock for his JHB Colt Partnership from the Arrowfield draft at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, before being sold to George Moore Bloodstock privately at the end of his 2YO season.

“Stronger just lives up to his name – he’s so tough in the finish he always tries so hard, he’s been so genuine and consistent,” Harron said.

“He was a beautiful yearling, very compact and willing type of horse, very much stamped by Not a Single Doubt and that toughness and tenacity is also a trait of his sire.

“At the sale, he was one of those horses who paraded so well throughout inspections and I’ll never forget when we bought him, George Moore was underbidder and he absolutely loved the horse.

“It’s a great result for everyone – from wonderful breeders in Arrowfield, to our owners and George Moore and the new connections.

“They paid good money for Stronger, as we did as a yearling so we’re just thrilled.

“No matter when we sell them or what level we sell them at, we cheer them all the way through.

“All the owners are so happy; we’ve followed him closely in Hong Kong since we sold him off the back of his G3 Ken Russell Classic win in Queensland and we’re ecstatic for the new owners and to be part of the journey.

Stronger is the third G1-winning graduate from Arrowfield Stud’s 2018 Easter draft, joining Super Seth (Dundeel) and Alabama Express (Redoute’s Choice) as well as five other Stakes winners: Akari (Snitzel), Groundswell (Fastnet Rock), Realm of Flowers (So You Think), Significance (Frankel) and Wayupinsthesky (Snitzel).

“He’s deserved a big win in Hong Kong, he’s been knocking on the door with five Group placings including a second in the G1 Sha Tin Vase last year,” Arrowfield Stud’s Jon Freyer said.

“With his racing pattern he needs to have luck and today just panned out beautifully and he really fought hard for the win.

“We’ve had multiple G1 winners from our Inglis Easter drafts over many years and I’m delighted with this year’s draft, I wouldn’t be surprised if 2022 is our best yet, the quality of the horses is just exceptional,” Freyer said.

The Arrowfield draft for the 2022 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale will comprise of 64 yearlings, including a three-quarter sister to Stronger, by promising young sire Pariah, as well as siblings to the likes of Anders, Estijaab, Kenedna, Profondo and Yearning, and progeny of the likes of Abbey Marie, Fenway, Kenedna, Omei Sword, Pinot, Politeness and Stay With Me amongst others.

Earlier on Sunday, Bello Beau (Brazen Beau) retained his unbeaten record with victory in the the Listed Elwick Stakes for 2YOs in Tasmania.

Bello Beau was a $70,000 purchase for trainer Adam Trinder and Wayne Roser from the Supreme Thoroughbreds draft at the Inglis Premier Yearling last year.
