One to Watch – Warrnambool

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 20

Westbury Stud’s Reliable Man (GB) has had some very good staying fillies including Oaks winners Miami Bound and Miss Sentimental, so when one of his three year-old fillies wins in this manner at her second start we investigate further.

Carrying the OTI Racing colours, the Matthew Williams trained Prospettiva was having her second start in the 1700m maiden at Warrnambool on Thursday and surged to the line to score by nearly two lengths.

Prospettiva was passed in at the NZB Ready to run Sale and bought privately, so fits the profile of other past stars for OTI sourced out of New Zealand.

She is the second winner from Prospect, a half-sister to Singapore Horse of the Year War Affair and to the dam of Group II winning stayer Sir Charles Road.
