The Breednet Sales Centre offers best stats for analysis – leading sires, buyers and vendors – fully interactive and with one short night session of Book 1 to go we check in on our our first season sires are performing.

First Season Sire Averages


There has been tremendous interest in these first season sires with three heavy hitters in Trapeze Artist (Widden), The Autumn Sun (Arrowfield) and Justify (USA) (Coolmore), who were the most expensive sires going to stud in 2019 by quite a margin.

Justify has had 100% clearance at this sale.

The Book 1 sale is now complete for Justify, who has only one more yearling to be offered at the Gold Coast and it comes up in Book 2 so his figures will remain as they are in this table.

The lure of the Ferrari for his first Group I winner of one of a list of selected events has done it’s work as he has had 100% clearance at this sale and holds the top of the list for single best result for a first season sire with his filly from dual Group I winner Global Glamour selling for $900,000 to Gai Waterhouse/ Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughreds.

The Autumn Sun and Trapeze Artist have horses selling tonight so stay tuned for a final in depth look at all of these sires on Sunday.

Another $1million sale for Newgate, the Pierro colt from Ben's Duchess (USA).

Newgate Farm coming of age at this sale with years of planning, the rise of their stallions and acquisition of quality mares paying off in a big way with two more $1million dollar yearlings on Thursday with a Pierro colt from Ben’s Duchess (USA) and Deep Field colt from Capital Commander selling to Tom Magnier and Hawkes Racing respectively.

Leading Buyers

Ciaron Maher and his team have had a productive sale.

Ciaron Maher Bloodstock still the leading buyer on a list of usual suspects, but the lure of the new Magic Millions Syndicate race from 2023 onwards has driven plenty of activity from syndicators with some of the big names all diving into this hot market, so click through to the main list to see what operators like Star Thoroughbreds, Dynamic, Triple Crown, Proven, Prime, BlueBlood, First Light and Tricolours have purchased.

Leading Sires

I Am Invincible posted his fifth million dollar result of the sale on Friday, $1.1million for this filly from Villa Carlotta.

Not a Single Doubt was leading sire last year and showing every sing of repeating the effort with his final crop of yearlings with three more to sell tonight.

I Am Invincible a powerhouse of strength with five individual million dollar yearlings so far and six to be offered tonight!
