The day's top seller, $1.9 million I Am Invincible colt with Tom and Charlie Magnier and the Newgate team.
Coolmore Australia Principal Tom Magnier secured the day's top seller, one of three seven figure purchases that his colt syndicate will place with champion trainer Chris Waller.

The $1.9 million seller is the latest yearling from the stakes performed mare Suspicieuse and is a half brother to Aquis Farm based sire Dubious.

He was bred by clients of bloodstock agent James Harron and offered through the draft of Newgate Farm.

"He's a lovely horse," Magnier said. "The team at Newgate need no introduction, they know how to breed good horses."

"He's a lovely type and we know how good Dubious was."

"Most people had him picked as the sale topper and it looks like he could do that - we are just so delighted to get him."

"We have a great team here at the sales, going around to pick the horses and everyone landed on this horse."

"He will go to Chris Waller and hopefully we have a bit of luck."

Earlier in the day the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable flexed their muscles to secure the Pierro colt from Ravi, offered as Lot 419 from the draft of Kia Ora Stud, for $1.5 million.

The colt is the second foal of his dam, a Group winning and an almost half million dollar earner by Redoute's Choice.

"He's a lovely physical," Maher's Bloodstock Manager Will Bourne said. "He's a Pierro out of a Redoute's mare, who could run herself."

"The Pierro-Redoute's cross has produced three Group One winners from a sample size of about 40 horses. A proven sire, the mare could run and it's a proven cross - it was a real no-brainer for us."

"We loved the colt. He's that athletic, I wouldn't put if past him to do it at two, but he'll be doing his best work at three," Bourne added.

The day's top priced filly as Lot 590 - the first living foal of group winner Sweet Sherry by Snitzel - was another of the big sellers on the day.

Offered by Silverdale Farm, the Sweet Sherry filly was knocked down to Badgers Bloodstock and Victoria's Glentree Thoroughbreds for $1.35 million.

Colts by Zoustar (ex Summer Sham for $1.25 million), Snitzel (ex Red Lodge and ex Street Secret for $1.1 million), Not a Single Doubt (ex Rhodamine for $1.1 million) and I Am Invincible (ex Silently for $1 million) were also among the day's stars in the ring.

Following today's selling the sale gross has shot to over $154 million for 516 lots sold at an average price of $298,668 and clearance rate of 94 per cent.

"It was a boomer," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch reflected this evening. "It's one of the best days of trade we've ever had here at Magic Millions."

"With eight million dollar lots, a record average and the clearance rate has held solid like yesterday at 94 per cent."

"From start to finish today it was strong, vibrant and it was exciting."

"The colt fund buyers are really stepping in. They've got a lot of faith in this sale - this is where you buy your next colt that's going to go out and win the Golden Slipper or win a Group One."

"I'm just delighted in where the market is at and buyers are coming from everywhere at all numbers," Bowditch added.
