New High Mark for Silverdale Farm

Mark Smith - Thursday January 13

An incredible final hour of day three of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, saw a new sales-topper, Newgate Farm’s $1,900,000 I Am Invincible x Suspicieuse colt, closely followed by a new high mark for the progressive Silverdale Farm.

The gorgeous Snitzel x Sweet Sherry filly

Badgers Bloodstock and Glentree Thoroughbreds combined to purchase Silverdale Farm’s magnificent Snitzel filly out of the Group II SAJC Euclase Stakes winner Sweet Sherry (Bel Esprit) for $1,350,000.

That makes her the second highest priced filly of the sale behind Emirate Parks daughter of I Am Invincible out of Najoom purchased by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA) for $1,550,000.

A $260,000 yearling, Sweet Sherry won back three times that on the track.

A half-sister to the admirably honest Arinosa (Dash For Cash), Sweet Sherry is sure to provide many more highlights for Steve Grant’s Southern Highland showpiece.

It did not have the best of starts when Sweet Sherry’s first foal by I am Invincible died after birth.

But she has an Exceed and Excel filly on the ground and is back in foal to I Am Invincible.
