Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 13

Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Snitzel posted his first million dollar yearling of the sale on Thursday when the Emirates Park bred colt from Red Lodge (USA) was knocked down at $1.1million to Tom Magnier, who then paid the same money for a Not a Single Doubt colt from Rhodamine just eight lots later.

$1.1million Snitzel colt f rom Red Lodge (USA)

The second million dollar yearling of the sale for Emirates Park, the colt from imported stakes-winner Red Lodge is the second foal of his dam, but is her first in Australia.

The daughter of Midshipman had a filly by Tassort last spring and was then covered by I am Invincible.

$1.1million Not a Single Doubt colt from Rhodamine.

The last crop of yearlings by Not a Single Doubt are a hot commodity and the colt from Rhodamine was offered by Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm and is a full brother to Group placed Legend of Condor and this season’s 2YO Pantonario, who made $750,000 at this sale last year.

Sadly for Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm, this colt is the last foal from Rhodamine, who died in 2020.
