Blueblood Frankel Impresses at Trials

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 21

Emirates Park’s Golden Slipper winner Mossfun spent a few years at stud in the UK to be covered by Frankel and the result of one of those matings is four year-old stallion Dajraan (GB), who has returned to Australia and won a trial at Canterbury this morning.

Frankel is the sire of promising import Dajraan.

A two time winner in the UK this year at Redcar and Leicester over 7f when trained by Kevin Ryan, Dajraan was exported to Australia in September and sent to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

He was let loose in public this morning at Canterbury in a strong barrier trial featuring quality three year-old filly Jamaea and Group I placed stakes-winner Aim with Dajraan showing plenty of talent to win the 890m heat by a length and a half.

Dajraan has a younger full sister in the UK called Sadmah that also won two races this year from four starts showing plenty of potential.

Mossfun is now back in Australia and has a yearling filly by I am Invincible plus a colt foal by the same sire and she was covered this spring by Capitalist.
