Domesday Makes Presence Felt

Tara Madgwick - Saturday September 23
In-form sire Domesday made a huge impression at Rosehill on Saturday siring high class mare Daysee Doom to win the Group II ATC Golden Pendant, while the $1million Group I ATC Golden Rose was won by Trapeze Artist, who was bred from a daughter of the Aquis Farm based son of Red Ransom (USA).

Winner of the Group III Dark Jewel Classic at Scone in May before going for a spell, the Ron Quinton trained Daysee Doom (image Steve Hart) was fit and ready to fire at her second run back from a spell.

She enjoyed a great run for Andrew Adkins to travel up in third place and powered to the line to win the 1400 metre contest by a short neck over her stablemate Dixie Blossoms.

Daysee Doom"People were asking me if I could split them and I said I couldn't, so I wasn't far wrong," revealed Ron Quinton.

"It's onwards and upwards for both mares now with the Angst Quality (Group III on October 7) next and then we'll look at Melbourne."

Retained to race by her breeders, Daysee Doom has the impressive record of seven wins from 14 starts with prizemoney topping $676,000.

She is the only foal from stakes-placed Mister C (USA) mare See a Victory, who comes from the family of stakes-winners Cooldini and Correct Amoondo.

Daysee Doom is one of 16 stakes-winners for Domesday, who is also the sire of unbeaten three year-old colt Royal Symphony, a leading contender for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas.

A wonderfully versatile and consistent sire, Domesday stands at Aquis Queensland at a fee of $8,800 and is completely free of Danzig blood.

He is the sire of the dam of Group I ATC Golden Rose winner Trapeze Artist, who is by reigning champion sire Snitzel.
