Fourth Win for Aussie Bred Freedom Seeker

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 13

Scoring a stylish win at Greyville in South Africa on Tuesday was five year-old Stratum mare Freedom Seeker, an $80,000 Inglis Premier purchase for World Wide Bloodstock  from the draft off Grenville Stud.

Trained by Weiho Marwing, Freedom Seeker scored by more than three lengths over 1400 metres.

A half-sister to Group I placed Scarlet Dream, who sold for $750,000 at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale this year, Freedom Seeker was bred by Tara Farm and is also a half-sister to Group III placed Runaway Girl.

Freedom Seeker as a yearling.

She is among six winners from South African bred Asylum Seeker (SAF), the Champion 2YO Filly of 2005/2006 and winner of the Group I Greyville Golden Slipper.

Asylum Seeker has a yearling colt by Smart Missile and has foaled this spring producing another colt by the same sire.
