Debut 2YO Winner Zoustar

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 10

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott picked an easy assignment for talented Magic Millions eligible Zoustar filly Celestial Spirit in sending her to Scone on Friday and the youngster delivered an impressive debut victory.

A short priced favourite after drawing gate one, Celestial Spirit led all the way for Winona Costin to win by three-quarters of a length over Churchill (IRE) filly Lady Chartwell.

Celestial Spirit as a yearling

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft for Laurel Oak/Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott Racing, Celestial Spirit was bred by Widden in partnership and is the first foal of Group III placed Sebring mare Positive Problems, a full sister to Group II placed Sebring Dream.

Widden Stud will present the second foal from Positive Problems, a filly by Written By at Magic Millions as Lot 382.

Celestial Spirit is the third two year-old winner this season for Zoustar joining stakes-winner Brereton and Spinosaurus.
