Sheamus Mills Purchases Siyouni Mare at Arqana

Mark Smith - Monday December 6

Bloodstock agent Sheamus Mills entered the fray on a more subdued second day of selling at the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.

Mills went to €72 000 for the Gavin Hernon consigned mare Red Hot (FR).

A daughter of the popular Siyouni, Red Hot won at Newcastle at her second start when trained Richard Fahey.

After placing at York and Nottingham, Red Hot (FR) joined the Gavin Hernon team in France.

After a 10-month break she placed at Longchamp before winning at Vichy a month later. Most of her recent racing has been in Germany where she placed in a Listed stakes at Dortmund.

Red Hot (FR) is out of the 3-time winning Green Tune mare Green China a granddaughter of the top-class Most Precious.

This is the same family of Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Indonesienne (Muhtathir), Listed winner Lumineux (Motivator) and Group 1 ATC Australian Oaks heroine Unforgotten, of the Freedman Brothers €75,000 purchase, Papua (FR) (Mastercraftsman), at yesterday’s opening session.
