Warriors Reward Colt Romps at Belmont

Mark Smith - Saturday September 23

Spendthrift Farm's Warrior Reward (USA) looks to have an exciting prospect in the two-year-old colt Battle Station who remains undefeated from two starts following a nine and a quarter length romp in the $150,000 Bertram F. Bongard Stakes at Belmont Park.

A winner on turf when making a successful career debut at Saratoga, Battle Station transferred that form to the dirt track at Belmont.

Taking control of the race shortly after the start the Wesley Ward-trained colt never looked back leaving a deflated even-money favourite Inalienable Rights disappearing in the rear vision mirror with a further twelve and a half lengths to Alien Invasion in third.
