Pedigree Potential – Ready to Run

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Monday November 8

Little Avondale Stud’s Per Incanto (USA) was once the well kept secret of savvy buyers looking for real results and serious value at Karaka, but the secret is no longer as a growing legion of fans are now awake to his merits with the likes of Justacanta and Lost and Running keeping him front and centre in recent weeks.

Eight year-old gelding Justacanta has been one of the surprise success stories of the Melbourne Spring Carnival winning a Listed race at Flemington on October 2 for the Patrick Payne stable and then returning to the same venue on Derby Day to win the Group II VRC Linlithgow Stakes (1200m).

G2 winner Justacanta has won nearly $480,000 in prizemoney - Racing Photos

Just for good measure he backed up in the Group III VRC Chatham stakes (1400m) last Saturday and was a gallant third beaten a length, his prizemoney haul now just shy of $480,000.

In Sydney, the John O’Shea trained five year-old Lost and Running won six of his first seven starts earning a slot in the $15million The Everest and ran out of his skin in that race to finish fourth to Nature Strip.

Second at his most recent start in the $1million ATC Classique Legend Stakes (1300m) behind Eduardo, Lost and Running will be a warm favourite this Saturday in the $1million The Hunter at Newcastle.
