One to Watch – Mornington

Tara Madgwick - Sunday October 31

Champion sire I Am Invincible gave us a new Group I winner on Saturday in Home Affairs and a ‘One to Watch’ on Sunday at Mornington.

Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, three year-old colt Unflinching was sent out favourite for the 1000m maiden and led all the way to score a facile three and a half length win.

A $280,000 Magic Millions purchase for Anthony Freedman Racing/Blue Sky Bloodstock P/L (FBAA) from the Coolmore draft, Unflinching runs for Dave Gillies and his breeder US based Stonestreet Stables.

Unflinching as a yearling.

Unflinching is the first foal of Group II placed Lonhro mare Kangarailla Joy, a grand-daughter of Group I VATC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Midnight Fever.

Kangarilla Joy was bought for Stonestreet by John Moynihan at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $840,000, making her the most expensive filly by Lonhro sold at that time.

Kangarilla Joy has a two year-old colt by Snitzel  that sold for $530,000 at Magic Millions this year to Greg Hickman.
