First Season Foals - Exceedance

Breednet - Friday October 29

With one of the jewels in the crown for colts, the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes, being run at Flemington this weekend we thought it timely to take a look at the first foals arriving this season by Vinery Stud’s 2019 winner Exceedance.

Exceedance won the G1 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Having charged to the line from last in the Gr.1 Golden Rose at his previous start to finish third to Bivouac and Yes Yes Yes, Exceedance again produced his powerful finish down the Flemington straight to turn the tables on Bivouac and set himself up for his stud career.

It was a great result for Vinery Stud who had purchased the stylish Exceed And Excel colt for $180,000 from the Newgate Farm draft at the 2018 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and raced him with partners as he returned them over $1million dollars as well as a Group One win prior to standing at a fee of $33,000.

He served a strong first book and just like his bay dominant grandsire Danehill, it looks like we’re not going to see a chestnut.

Below is a selection of his first season foals and you can click here to see plenty more.
