In It To Win It!

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 22
The Spring Carnival is in full swing so we have stakes racing every weekend and for breeders and stallion owners it’s all about which sires are doing well and getting the stakes winners when it counts - to get them you need runners, so let’s take a look into the crystal ball to see which stallions can fire up this weekend.

With five runners in the $1million Group I ATC Golden Rose on Saturday including the favourite Menari, Snitzel is poised to open up a lead on the Australian General Sires List in his quest to win back to back Champion Australian Sire titles.

He is the most represented sire in stakes races this weekend with 12 runners, Lubiton being a dual acceptor.

Champion sire Fastnet Rock is next with seven runners and he also has two runners in the Golden Rose in unbeaten colt Merchant Navy and star filly Formality.

High Chaparral (IRE) and Savabeel are next on six runners each followed by Rip Van Winkle (IRE)
