Race 1 summary - Hard to assess with minimal form to go by. SECOND ISLAND finished fourth at only start at Muswellbrook, has solid claims. DREAMY BELLE first start and placed in both trials, not without each-way claims. UNIONIST first starter and won one of two trials, could threaten. SHAPE OF YOU has trialled since last race and genuine frontrunner in a race without much early speed, not without each-way claims.
Race 1 tips - 1st: SECOND ISLAND (9), 2nd: DREAMY BELLE (7), 3rd: UNIONIST (6), 4th: SHAPE OF YOU (3).

Race 2 summary - Looks a two horse race. VALREE finished fourth last start at Mudgee when resuming and drawn well, one of the main hopes. SHIVER ME TIMBERS consistently close but finding it hard to win and a speedy type, right in this. JUNCTION ROAD placed when unwanted in the betting at only start at Muswellbrook and draws to do no work, don't treat likely. I WEAR PRADA ran three lengths back from the winner at only start at Muswellbrook, cannot be ruled out.
Race 2 tips - 1st: VALREE (9), 2nd: SHIVER ME TIMBERS (14), 3rd: JUNCTION ROAD (11), 4th: I WEAR PRADA (5).

Race 3 summary - ATOMIC METEOR has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier and has a lot of speed, will be hard to run down early, has solid claims. JUST BUTE finished strongly to end up midfield last start at Muswellbrook when resuming and could come on strong to threaten, sneaky chance. HACHI OKI ran six lengths back from the winner at only start at Muswellbrook, not the worst. TURNBERRY on debut and good to go after placing in two trials, place best.
Race 3 tips - 1st: ATOMIC METEOR (10), 2nd: JUST BUTE (5), 3rd: HACHI OKI (4), 4th: TURNBERRY (2).

Race 4 summary - MAKFI LASS on a seven day back-up and won or placed four of last five, tough to beat. LOZZA won two of last seven and has a lot of speed, will be hard to run down early, cannot be ruled out. EXACTING consistently close but finding it hard to win and trial since last run could help, place only. MISS NELLIE next best.
Race 4 tips - 1st: MAKFI LASS (3), 2nd: LOZZA (4), 3rd: EXACTING (2), 4th: MISS NELLIE (6).

Race 5 summary - GRUNDALINA faded to finish five lengths off the winner last start at Tuncurry and likely to race off the speed in a race with plenty of tempo, key chance. COMMANDATORE first-up after 20 week break and in decent form, still in this. SAN FRANCISCO coming off a win to break maiden at Newcastle when fresh and backmarker in a fast race, quinella. TAKAHASHI right in the mix.
Race 5 tips - 1st: GRUNDALINA (3), 2nd: COMMANDATORE (6), 3rd: SAN FRANCISCO (1), 4th: TAKAHASHI (9).

Race 6 summary - Hard to split the top two picks. LOQUETEUX came on to finish midfield last start at Tuncurry and gets the blinkers back on, among the main chances. GOOD VERDICT last start winner to break maiden at Wellington when first up and will be happy to get a good track, in the mix. MUSICAL FAMILY finished seventh last start at Tuncurry and likely to race on the speed, strong place chance. I CAN HEAR MUSIC goes in all the exotics.
Race 6 tips - 1st: LOQUETEUX (9), 2nd: GOOD VERDICT (3), 3rd: MUSICAL FAMILY (10), 4th: I CAN HEAR MUSIC (2).

Race 7 summary - RAIDEN winner or placed in three of past three and should race on the speed, the testing material. GOLD SKYE won easily in the end last start to break maiden at Tuncurry and likely to race off the speed in a race with plenty of tempo, needs the breaks. NOBODY first-up after 20 week spell and will come to hand quickly, place chance. MAC'S REWARD winner or placed in four of past seven and running 5.5kg lighter than last start, capabable of getting into the money.
Race 7 tips - 1st: RAIDEN (1), 2nd: GOLD SKYE (6), 3rd: NOBODY (9), 4th: MAC'S REWARD (3).

Race 8 summary - BAKSLAP resumes after a spell of 40 weeks and been in strong winning form, hard to go past. NICK ON THE RUN in fairly consistent form and coming off a win at Muswellbrook, still in this. MURRANJI resumes from a long 71 week spell and first race for Mack Griffith, the real danger in the race. PROFESSOR MARX finished fifth last start at Tamworth and has won at Scone before, not without each-way claims.
Race 8 tips - 1st: BAKSLAP (3), 2nd: NICK ON THE RUN (8), 3rd: MURRANJI (6), 4th: PROFESSOR MARX (1).

Long shots were the order of the day at Royal Ascot on Day 4 and there was no bigger or better upset than the 33-1 shock winner of the Group I Coronation Stakes (1m) for three year-old fillies with the winner Cercene sired by Epsom Derby winner Australia and owned by Australian Shane Stafford.
Aussie Bred HK G3 Double
A pair of Group III races were run at Sha Tin on Sunday with victory in the two last stakes races of the HK season both going to Aussie bred geldings Beauty Joy and Copartner Prance, who is a half-brother to Aquis based sire Kobayashi.
Juvenile Trial Watch – Canterbury
There were a whopping 10 heats won by juveniles at the Canterbury trials on Monday morning that included some interesting unraced youngsters by Zoustar, Zousain and Trapeze Artist, plus a good looking youngster that may see the benefit of gelding.
