NZB Breeze Up Ready to Run Video Now Online

Media Release - Thursday October 14

New Zealand Bloodstock’s annual Ready to Run Sale Breeze Up clips and Mounting Yard videos are now available to view online.

Earlier this week, 274 talented juveniles galloped down the home straight of Te Rapa Racecourse, with all two-year-olds having the last 200 metres of their work individually timed.

NZB’s Bloodstock Sales Manager Danny Rolston commented on the two days of action.

NZB Breeze up videos are now online.

“Overall we are thrilled with the quality of two-year-olds on offer in the Sale and are extremely pleased with their performances across the two consecutive days of the Breeze Ups,” he said.

“On Day One [Monday 11 October], we saw 135 lots breeze while averaging a time of 11.11 seconds on ideal track and weather conditions.

“On the second day [Tuesday 12 October], 139 two-year-olds ran an average time of 11.56 seconds, with the weather and track conditions downgraded after a heavy downpour of rain overnight and strong winds during the day.

“While the conditions were varied, penetrometer readings and weather reports were taken on both days which are clearly indicated on the clips for buyers assessment purposes,” said Rolston.

For the second year, NZB made the decision to lengthen their traditional Breeze Up clip format and offer vision of the mounting yard prior to horses breezing.

This includes additional footage near the 600 metre mark to capture horses before they fully extended into their gallop, with all two-year-olds also being paraded and filmed in the mounting yard at Te Rapa prior to their gallop.

All Breeze Up videos are now available to view online at www.nzb.co.nz. Each heat is recorded in high definition, the quality will automatically scale based on your internet connection and device. The video clips can also be downloaded from Vimeo or viewed in couch mode under the Ready to Run Sale ‘Breeze Up’ tab on the website, playing all clips from start to finish.
