Popular tipster Laurie Sainsbury is calling on a famous cartoon character as he aims to give his followers a winning day at Caulfield on Saturday.

Laurie says it's worth a little tipple in the opener at Caulfield.

PURE SCOT (Caulfield Race 1 No 2)
The speed here should be Joyfilly Ours, Blondie and maybe Sanadat all going forward, busy early. That pace should suit this filly as she closed the second fastest sectionals first-up at Moonee Valley behind Shoals. Has the perfect second-up record and her run in the National Stakes in Adelaide prior to her spell behind I’ll Have A Bit and Booker was much better than the 3-1/4 length margin indicated. Sanadat attracted plenty of attention in the stewards’ report from her Moonee Valley run and may be the danger.

WYNDSPELLE (Caulfield Race 5 No 8)
This looks to be another race where the pace should be solid. Wyndspelle had his first Australian run for Michael Kent when he ran eighth, beaten 3-1/4 length by Brave Smash. In that event he looked to run out of galloping room early in the straight and then always had runners in front of him, should have finished closer. He ran a cheeky race for a $151 chance, won’t be those odds again. Has form around this way of going as he won the Waikato Guineas in New Zealand.

SEBRING DREAM (Caulfield Race 9 No 8)
This mare looks value. Last time in she resumed winning a Benchmark 70 over 1300M with 59kg. It would seem natural following her previous campaign to step her out first-up at 1400m. Go back into her form and read where she ran second to I Am A Star on debut, defeated Montoya’s Secret next start, ran second in a Wakeful Stakes to Tiamo Grace, third in the Araria at Morphettville to Kenedna, she may be a sneaky knockout chance in the Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes, and was then spelled after a sixth to Egg Tart beaten 2-3/4 lengths in the Schweppes Oaks. I will be surprised if any of these could have achieved those levels.
BET: EACH-WAY
ODDS $26 @ Ladbrokes
