Brazen Beau Colt Sizzles at San Siro

Mark Smith - Monday June 28

Two-year-old Brazen Beau colt Windstormblack will target the Group II Prix Robert Papin on July 18th at Chantilly after keeping his record at a perfect three for three with a hugely impressive front-running performance in Sunday's Premio Group III Primi Passi (1200m) at San Siro.

Ridden by Gabriele Cannarella for trainer Sebastiano Guerrieri, Windstormblack had his five rivals off the bit at the halfway mark before cruising to a five-length victory. Baghed (Twilight Son) grabbed second ahead of The King's Horses (Time Test).

A clone of his sire, Windstormblack was bought by Scuderia Semeso for 17,500gns out of the Norris Bloodstock draft, on behalf of Fonthill Farms, at the 2020 Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale.

A winning half-sister to Group III winner Intrepid Jack (Compton Place) from the family of Dunaden's sire Nicobar, Josefa Goya was bought back by Fonthill Stud for just 800gns at the 2018 Tattersalls December Sale.

Windstormblack becomes the 14th stakes-winner for Darley Stud's Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible), who stands in Victoria at a fee of $49,500 in 2021.
