Sweet Deal Off to the Chairman's Sale a Winner

Mark Smith - Saturday May 1

There are few more likeable mares than the John Thompson-trained Sweet Deal who will head to next Friday’s Inglis Chairman’s Sale with four Group IIIs and  $1,479,320 to her name following Saturday’s win in the Hawkesbury Crown (1300m).

With Nash Rawiller in the saddle, the 6yo daughter of Casino Prince powered past the Redoute’s Choice mare Jen Rules inside the 200 metres to win by one and a quarter lengths with the 4yp Smart Missile mare Air To Air the same distance back in third.

The winner of the $1million The Hunter at Newcastle last November, Sweat Deal was born and raised at Edinglassie Stud.

She was purchased by Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) for $67,500 out of the Lincoln Farm draft at the 2016 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The best of two winners from as many to race out of the Sydney winning Royal Academy mare Dorothy Evelyn, Sweet Deal advanced her record to 11 wins, seven seconds and two thirds from 42 starts with earnings of $1,479,320.

Hailing from the family of Group 1 West Australian Derby winner Chipolata, Dorothy Evelyn was pensioned in 2018 after producing a full-brother to Sweet Deal named Cuisenaire.

Newgate Farm will consign Sweet Deal to the Inglis Chairman’s Sale.
